Dead Generation renewal, any info?
Stone Sour DVD/EP
No more demos?! :(
Dead Generation renewal, any info?
Good afternoon everybody,
I received an e-mail that my Dead Generation membership is about to expire (ahhhhh...). But I can (and most probably will) renew it. Hurray!
I do wonder though, is there a package again like the welcome package I received last year (thank you very much once again!) or was that a one time only thing? And most importantly, will Stone Sour still share a new demo with us every month? This is, besides the fact that you support the band, THE best reason to become and stay a Dead Generation member people!
I truly hope so, because the Audio Secrecy demos we had the chance to listen to so far are more than amazing.
My final question: will the December demo still be uploaded or do we have to wait until January since we've already got a whole concert this month? I'm not eager, just curious ;)
Thanks in advance for replying!
Stone Sour/Superego demos should be released!
I don't know how Corey and the other guys feel about the fact that a lot of their demos can be listened to on Youtube and are available for download illegally.
I'm not going to say I don't listen to them or that I would never download them. BUT, if they were put on a cd in good quality, I would buy them just like I bought all their official cd's.
I know it doesn't represent Stone Sour as the band they are now, but it perfectly shows the path they've followed from 1992 up until now.
So please all respond to this and hopefully Stone Sour will release the following demos someday!

Stone Sour DVD/EP
Any news on the upcoming Stone Sour EP/Live DVD can be posted here.
Stone Sour posted on their website: "Plans are afoot for a special EP/DVD release from STONE SOUR this Winter, along with a special MP3 giveaway via STONE SOUR’s Facebook page. Stay tuned for full details soon."
Corey said he hoped it will be released this year, but since no new info has been posted since, I bet it will be somewhere in January/February. He also said: "We shot a concert last year on the co-headlining tour that we did with Avenged Sevenfold and we shot it in Brighton and we've been trying to get it together ever since and it's just been insane. There's been so much work and we just haven't had a chance to kind of get a handle on it. But we've been talking about doing a covers EP forever. This is just a kind of a cool way to put something cool out that the fans will dig."
"We're gonna probably record it in September/October, somewhere in there, get that together," he continued. "That way it's not just a DVD, it's a special little CD as well. So we'll see what fucking happens." Taylor added that each member of STONE SOUR will get to pick one song for the covers EP.
Setlist at Brighton Centre, Brighton, England on November 7, 2010: Mission Statement Reborn Made of Scars Say You'll Haunt Me Get Inside Unfinished Your God Bother Through Glass Digital (Did You Tell) Hell & Consequences 30/30-150
Unfortunately, no Dying, Let's Be Honest, Hesitate, or The Bitter End in this setlist. Hopefully in the future, they will be released on another DVD!
COVERS EP coming this winter, what covers will be on it?
Ok guys, I thought it would be nice for us to discuss what songs we think or hope will be on the Covers EP.
"We've got a really cool idea that we're thinking about doing," Corey said. "We're actually thinking about doing a special release of a DVD, which will be 'Live At Brighton', and a covers EP that we've been talking about doing for a really long time. We're gonna probably record it in September/October, somewhere in there, get that together," he continued. "That way it's not just a DVD, it's a special little CD as well."
Every band-member got to pick his favorite song, so I guess there will be 5 (but maybe and definitely hopefully more) songs on the EP. What do you think the guys picked?
I think Corey picked a song of Nirvana since it's Nevermind's 20th anniversary and he is a big fan of them, or maybe Ray LaMontagne or Elvis.
I think Jim picked a song of one of his musical influences: Pink Floyd, David Gilmour or George Harrison.
I think Josh picked a heavier metal song from maybe Metallica.
I think Roy picked a Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy or punk-rock band's song.
And last but certainly not least, I think he picked a song from Queen or Dream Theater.
And as a bonus track, Shawn's beard demanded to put a heavy metal version of Scooby Doo on the Ep as well.
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS? :D
No more demos?! :(
What happened to Stone Sour uploading a new demo every month? In September we had no demo at all, and there is no statement by the band why or when it will be here. It's getting really disappointing by now since I'm looking forward to it every month.
Please give us some info about it and upload two demos this month to set things straight :)
